Description

Since 2004, the Nachtwächter- und Türmerzunft event revives an old tradition where historical night watchmen and town criers walk through the dark streets of Bischofszell. Attendees can listen to the legendary hourly calls, hear stories from urban life, legends, and eerie tales from the Middle Ages. Guided group walks with torches explore the city's darkest corners, with the night watchmen sharing insights into old judiciary practices and the work of executioners. Special free tours on the eve of the new moon at 9:00 PM include visits to the suburb and old town, with stories about medieval times and the plague.
