Alexandra Brückner, Head of Production of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, invites you on an expedition through the rooms behind the rooms. What happens when an office building suddenly becomes the festival headquarters? And what can you find when you look behind the doors that no one (anymore) goes through? This tour takes you through the hidden corners of the festival headquarters: to floors, rooms, and corridors that are usually closed to the public. Participants will learn from Alexandra Brückner, Head of Production, how the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK breathes new life into an empty building as a short-term user, what challenges a temporary use entails, and explore the special sides of this house. From one of the most beautiful views over the city down to the hidden bowling alley in the basement, from inconspicuous office corridors to a surreal delivery entrance – for a moment, time seems to lose its rhythm: Are you still in the here and now or already in a past version and parallel world of this house?
