A guided tour offers insights into one of the most remarkable residential projects in the city: the Sargfabrik. In the mid-1980s, a group of committed people dreamed of creating a housing cooperative that would house various living models and cultural opportunities collectively. The vision of an open and self-defined coexistence became a reality: from a social experiment, a vibrant urban housing project with cultural-political ambitions emerged. As a piece of the city's anticipated future, the project, organized as a non-profit association, now includes a lively community with a cultural center, seminar house, bathhouse, café-restaurant, playground, rooftop garden, and many other community rooms and facilities. During the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, this remarkable residential project opens its doors and offers a guided tour of the area, providing participants with insights into and information about the history of the site, the special architecture of the BKK-3 office, as well as the organization of the project and community.
