Tsotne Zedginidze

Description

The Georgian pianist and composer Tsotne Zedginidze, born in 2009, comes from a long-standing musical family. His great-grandfather was the composer Niko Sulkhanishvili, and his grandmother was the pianist Nino Mamradze, with whom he began playing the piano at the age of five. At ten, he gave his first recital in Tbilisi and shortly thereafter performed with the Georgian National Philharmonic Orchestra, playing Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2. In 2024, Sir Simon Rattle invited him to perform works by Schönberg, Bartók, and Poulenc. In January 2025, his First Symphony was premiered at the Mozart Week Salzburg and subsequently performed across Europe. He is also pursuing his piano career with recitals and orchestra appearances in Europe and Asia. Currently, he studies at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule Berlin and at the Barenboim-Said Akademie in cooperation with Jörg Widmann (composition) and Sir András Schiff (piano). Program
