Description

Do you enjoy experimenting with your voice and feel like improvising? Do you enjoy movement and get inspired to dance freely? Do you like listening to or singing Gregorian chant and feel the urge to combine it with other musical expressions? Then come to this course and let's cross boundaries together, travel through time, and experiment with words, voice, and sound. The over thousand-year-old melodies of the St. Gallen tradition are a true treasure trove for musical styles of our time, and their texts speak directly from life, then and now. In the overwhelming acoustics of the Kappel monastery church, this becomes a unique spatial sound experience. We will work on partly new pieces, partly chants from previous courses by singing them aloud and repeating together, and then improvise in our own forms. Basic knowledge of reading music or singing by ear is helpful.
