Johann Sebastian Bach - Goldberg Variations for Two Guitars
The focus is on Johann Sebastian Bach's Goldberg Variations, BWV 988, which Garcia and Morinière have arranged for two guitars. In this version, the two French musicians combine elements of modern and historically informed sound conception, opening up a new perspective on the baroque cycle. "Baroque music for keyboard instruments has always fascinated us," said Thibaut Garcia, who already gained attention in 2018 with his album Bach Inspirations. Together with Antoine Morinière, he has been playing as a duo for over a decade. Their two guitars were made from the wood of a single tree - a symbol of the tonal unity of their interpretation. "Their playing is characterized by impressive clarity and tension, and you can sense that the two guitarists understand each other instinctively. The switch between polyphonic precision and delicate sound poetry gives the work a new transparency - and at the same time proves that Bach's music can transcend any instrumental boundary." (Le Monde, 7.11.25) The advance sale for individual tickets begins on September 1, 2026.
