Description
Micha Friemel presents her first novel – and what a novel it is. At the center are Marie and Mattia, whose love relationship has always been turbulent. They are now married and have two children. Their arguments are becoming increasingly intense; once, Marie completely loses it in the presence of her little daughter. She then flees from herself. She retreats to a mountain village, picks flowers, eats nothing but rice, and reviews her past with Mattia. In a desperate search for a knot that could be untied, she goes further and further back to her earliest childhood. In her thoughts, she has countless conversations: with Mattia, with real and imaginary therapists, literary figures like Parzival, and with the clever Else from the Brothers Grimm. Quite unexpectedly, she finds the key that fundamentally changes her life. A clever, witty novel that playfully and tenderly shows why we make it hardest for those we love above all. The evening is moderated by Vera Zatti.
