Description

Teheran, July 7, 2007: Reyhaneh Jabbari, 19, has a business meeting with a new client. A very normal day, but one that will change her life forever. When the man tries to assault her, she stabs him in self-defense and flees. On the same day, she is arrested and soon charged with murder. Despite much evidence pointing to self-defense, Reyhaneh has no chance in court, as her rapist was a powerful and well-connected man, protected by patriarchal society — even after his death. Reyhaneh is sentenced to death. Her personal fight for justice begins.
