Description
Awarded annually by the Académie Goncourt, the Goncourt Prize, the most prestigious literary award in France, honors "the best work of imaginative prose." Among the works selected for 2025, we present two: Paul Gasnier, La collision (Gallimard, 2025) and Caroline Lamarche, Le Bel Obscur (Seuil, 2025). The prize for 2026 will complete our program. The three novels will be analyzed from different approaches. We will discuss the selection criteria for such a prize, the themes of contemporary literature, and elements of narratology. We will also highlight intertextual links and the relationship with major literary movements, while trying to emphasize the stylistic particularities of these works.
