Are you fascinated by trains and curious about what happens behind the scenes of the railway, and which other services are closely related to it? ČD Cargo warmly invites you to the Open House at the Railway Vehicle Repair Center (SOKV) in České Budějovice. Take advantage of a unique opportunity to peek into places that are usually not accessible to the public and enjoy a day full of railway atmosphere. What can you look forward to? The world of locomotives and carriages: You will be able to view the displayed machines from the outside and especially from the inside – you will have a great opportunity to sit right in the driver's cab! Steam train rides: Experience nostalgia firsthand. A special steam train will run between the depot and the freight area (near the railway polyclinic) at approximately 40-minute intervals. For both small and large fans: A detailed model railway will be in operation, and the atmosphere will be complemented by an exhibition on the railway environment. Technology in action: In addition to trains, you will get to know modern firefighting technology from the Railway Administration, the Special Intervention Unit of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant, and other units of the Integrated Rescue System (IZS) and other entities related to the railway.
