Nicolaj Ésteban «Smile Baby»

Description

The sun is not feeling well. It is in a low, has lost its light, and has withdrawn. Only an excursion into its inner self can help it. Together with Loveboy, it sets out there: searching for the inner child, the Smile Baby. This is how Nicolaj Ésteban tells the story of a healing. It is autobiographically inspired and realized in the form of an artistic production. For this concept, the graphic artist, motion designer, and musician was awarded a work grant by the city of St. Gallen last year. In the municipal exhibition, Nicolaj Ésteban presents the story «Smile Baby» not only as an installation but also performs with his band «Loveboy And His Imaginary Friends» on the occasion of the Museum Night: alongside him are Bee-fynn McDoll, a pink dolphin playing keyboard, bassist Kaktus Hugtus Roch Hard, and drummer Leopard Lampard. The four of them help the sun in its search for light. Tuesday to Sunday from 2 pm to 5 pm

General Information

The exhibition «Smile Baby» by Nicolaj Ésteban takes place at the Architecture Forum Ostschweiz in St. Gallen. It tells the autobiographically inspired story of a healing and is complemented by a musical performance during the Museum Night.
