Romania is one of the most underestimated countries and still struggles with numerous prejudices and clichés. But this can change. Join Ruth and Jürgen Haberhauer into the solitude of the Carpathians, explore with them the magnificent towns and fortified churches of Transylvania, and the indescribable biodiversity of the Danube Delta.
Where is the heaviest building in the world located? Why is an undead vampire count still haunting Transylvania today? For 20 years, the two have traveled through the country of Ruth's childhood. Family history comes alive, and together you will immerse yourself in the lives of the people of an unexpectedly hospitable land, for example aboard the last steam-powered forest railway in Europe, in conversations with Orthodox monks, or in the workshop of a woodcarver.
In some villages, plows are still pulled by horses, and it can happen that Ruth and Jürgen are spontaneously invited to a lively wedding, as if they were friends... After the presentation, you will see Romania with different eyes! An event by DERTOUR in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the city of Achern.
