Dieter Schonlau and his wife Sandra Hanke are on their expeditions uncovering the secrets of the rainforests. They document their indescribable diversity and impress even scientists with their spectacular images. They provide insights into a hidden wonder world where glowing mushrooms grow, flying frogs live, and insects look like flowers. They report on forest elephants, nose monkeys, hornbills, and forest spirits, and tell about the lives of orangutans, whom they approached on self-built platforms in the treetops. In 2025, they received the 'Oscar' of photography from Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi at Xposure, the world's largest photography and film festival in the United Arab Emirates, for their outstanding images and passionate educational work on the threat to the unique rainforests. Their composition of excellent shots, exciting adventure reports, and an impressive soundscape makes this lecture an unforgettable event - and takes the audience into the magical wonder world of jungle life.
