Description
The Alsatian star chef Marc Haeberlin (Auberge de l'Ill) guest in the TÊTE À TÊTE series. Marc Haeberlin belongs to the fourth generation of chefs at the "Auberge de l'Ill" in Illhaeusern. He trained at the hotel school in Strasbourg, gaining his first experiences with renowned chefs: Paul Bocuse, Jean and Pierre Troisgros, René Lasserre, Gaston Lenôtre... and then joined his father and uncle at the "Auberge de l'Ill" in 1976. For Marc Haeberlin, everything must be perfect, from dishwashing to the dish presented to the customer. The restaurant's clientele is very loyal and comes from Alsace as well as from the United States or Japan. Marc Haeberlin has been a Knight of the "Ordre National du Mérite" since 2001 and a Knight of the "Légion d'Honneur" since 2007. He is also the first chairman of the "Grandes Tables du Monde" (the great tables of the world) since October 2001.
The name Haeberlin is not only associated with culinary excellence in France. The Auberge de l'Ill is more than just a restaurant. Here, not only French but also German haute cuisine was invented. Here, Eckart Witzigmann, Hans Haas, Otto Fehrenbacher — an entire generation of chefs who put Germany on the culinary world map — learned their craft. Supported by our main sponsor E-Werk Mittelbaden.
