After his successful production of "The Barber of Seville" in the 2023/24 season, director Nikolaus Habjan presents another opera highlight with singers from Theater Basel and life-sized hand puppets.

It is the wedding day: Figaro, who has risen from barber to the count's valet, wants to marry his beloved Susanna. But Count Almaviva has set his sights on the chambermaid himself and pulls out all the stops to delay the wedding. With the countess's support, the clever couple resists the arbitrariness of the authorities and triggers a cascade of intrigues and counter-intrigues.

Director Nikolaus Habjan delights with a production full of joy and wit, in which the great singers of the Basel Opera Studio, together with a charming ensemble of hand puppets, bring Mozart's great opera to life.
