At the latest since Donald Trump became President of the USA, Christian nationalism has come into the spotlight. War Secretary Pete Hegseth, Vice President J. D. Vance, or the tech elite loudly represent the dominance of "Western civilization" and embody white, male supremacy. They propagate very conservative, theocratic to fascist attitudes with biblical motifs, linked to the MAGA movement and the person of Donald Trump. Broad circles from the right-wing Christian scene support them. We provide an overview of this movement of authoritarian Christian nationalism. What are their arguments? What are the networks of their power? We focus on the USA but also on Europe. At the same time, we ask about resistance and alternatives: What are the basic features of a humane and power-critical theology?
