A musical-theatrical homage to female icons of pop music such as Kate Bush, Nina Simone, Annette Humpe, Beyoncé, and Billie Eilish. In their stage program, Christiane Hagedorn, Nikola Materne, and Martin Scholz invite you on a creative trip through the history of female pop culture. With great joy, they honor outstanding female icons of pop music who have made a name for themselves as songwriters, singers, producers, performers, and businesswomen. These women have overcome resistance, shared their personal experiences with sexism in the music industry, and are musicians, mothers, partners, colleagues—and tell their stories. Materne/Hagedorn/Scholz let the musicians speak in scenes like interviews, conversations, or monologues, as well as in recorded original sound bites. And of course, their songs and lyrics speak their own language. The trio combines words and music into a cohesive program, a homage to inspiring artists, pioneers, and role models.
