Description

For ten days, cirqu' is everywhere in Aarau—sometimes in one of the theater spaces, in museums, under the circus dome, or out in the open air; sometimes in small groups, often right in the midst of everyone. But always enchanting, exhilarating, and invigorating. From playful and cheerful to profound and thought-provoking, from entertaining to demanding patience, sometimes dizzying, sometimes humorous, sometimes provocative. Ten-minute productions find their place just as much as performances that stretch over hours or even days. In addition to well-traveled stage or tent productions that have shaped contemporary circus art around the world, cirqu’ also presents small, experimental formats and pieces for the whole family. The festival offers a wide variety of aesthetics and content. As always, the heart of the festival is at the Alte Reithalle. This is where the main venue and the festival center with box office are located; with the Bar im Stall and food from the cirqu’ kitchen, it’s also the place to linger and socialize. The program will be released in April 2027—advance ticket sales will begin at the same time.
