Description
Barbara Hammer (US) - Short films 60 min. vo: ang st: ang dès 16 ans What is missing guides Barbara Hammer's work. Her archival creation is an ode to the strength of lesbian collectives and the technicality of women artists, comrades, and partners. This session of three short films is a celebration of a lesbian history still in motion. Sisters (1973) Women I love (1976) Superdyke (1975) guided by Laurine Labourier, an independent journalist, specialist in queer representations in cinema (Slate, Têtu, Gouinement Lundi, etc.) and a fan of Barbara Hammer. A major artist of experimental cinema and queer activism of the last fifty years, American Barbara Hammer (1939-2019) tirelessly inhabited this invisible screen and fought for a fair — and prolific — representation of lesbian and queer people. Her unique work questions intimacy, the representation of lesbian sexualities, queer history, up to confrontation with death. An exciting and enlightening dive into the heart of the exaltation of creation, the excitement of loving freely, and the imperative to leave a mark. With the support of the Office of Promotion of Equality and Violence Prevention of the Republic and Canton of Geneva.Highlights
