Soyoung Yoon, violin In this subscription concert, the Zuger Sinfonietta, under the direction of chief conductor Daniel Huppert, dedicates itself to works that surprise. Robert Schumann's symphony evokes spring but does not follow a strict program: starting from the poetic idea «In the valley, spring blooms», the work develops musically on its own. The program is expanded with an intermezzo from Frederick Delius's opera «Koanga», adding a sound color beyond the core repertoire. Sergei Prokofiev's violin concerto features a surprisingly lyrical tone language, which sounds unusual alongside the composer's dissonant and aggressive works. The solo part is performed by the renowned South Korean violinist Soyoung Yoon, known for her careful and charming interpretations. A spectacular end to the season!
