Description
Under the musical direction of Roberto Paternostro, the final concert evening of the subscription season features a program with works by Johannes Brahms and Richard Strauss. The Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, a regular guest at major orchestra concerts in Tuttlingen, is an internationally active symphony orchestra with members from about fifteen nations and performs in Tuttlingen with Don Juan op.20 and the Rosenkavalier Suite, two works by Richard Strauss (1864-1949).
The main work of the evening is Johannes Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major, op. 83, with soloist Michael Korstick, who is not only one of the most significant Beethoven interpreters of our time but also one of the most versatile pianists of his generation. His repertoire includes over 130 piano concertos and solo works from all stylistic periods. Korstick has undertaken international concert tours and collaborated with more than 100 orchestras, including many of the best ensembles worldwide. His more than 60 CD recordings have been highly praised by critics and many have received prestigious awards.
