With the JPO conducted by Alban Beikircher, a young and equally enthusiastic and inspiring ensemble, which has already demonstrated its great musical class several times here, opens the new concert season in Tuttlingen. The Junge Philharmonie Oberschwaben has earned an excellent reputation among the music lovers of the region during its 18 years of existence. It offers young female and male musicians, including some from Tuttlingen, the opportunity to perform large symphonic works. In 2026, works by Franz Liszt, Gioachino Rossini, and Pjotr Iljitsch Tschaikowski will be performed. Additionally, following a good tradition, the orchestra has commissioned a composer, Florian Karl Enrique Briegel, to create a commissioned work, which will premiere through the youth orchestra. Alban Beikircher, the conductor, studied violin with Joshua Epstein in Saarbrücken and with Yfrah Neaman in London. He directs the music school in Bad Saulgau and teaches violin and viola there. Besides, his concert activities take him through many countries in and outside Europe. With his students, he has found that there is no large symphony orchestra in the extended Lake Constance region. To remedy this, young people from the Ulm area, Friedrichshafen, Tuttlingen, and across the Swabian Alps will be introduced to the great classics of symphonic orchestral music over three rehearsal weekends. Afterwards, the program will be performed at four locations in the region, including regularly in the Stadthalle Tuttlingen for many years.
