Description
Why does Northeast Europe enchant everyone who has traveled through Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia? Is it the endless sunsets over the Baltic Sea, the pristine nature with its stork colonies, or the lively customs with colorful costumes and old songs? For over twenty years, photographer and adventurer Robert Neu has been exploring the Baltic States – on foot, by boat, in a camper, and more recently with a special combination of bicycle and packraft. This ultra-light, inflatable boat makes it possible to connect cycling and water stages and experience the landscape from a completely new perspective. His journey takes him from the Curonian Spit across lonely Baltic beaches to Estonia, which has a Scandinavian feel. He encounters vibrant traditions, bustling cities like Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius – and experiences surprising stories: from a private Baltic Sea island to an involuntary night behind bars. Especially impressive are the quiet moments in nature and encounters with people along the way – as well as with moose, storks, and the last brown bears of Europe. A fascinating live travel report about the special magic of the Baltic States – between sky, sea, and untouched wilderness.
