The Literature Salon "Writers' Thursday," run by journalist and author Rainer Schmidt in Berlin above the legendary Restaurant Borchardt, has long become the most sought-after literary event in the capital. Here, several authors read briefly and strikingly from their works. Special attention is always paid to the relationship between literature and music. Musicians are inspired by literature, and authors by music – and pop culture plays an important role in many novels. The boundaries between artists from the fields of music and literature blur... This fits with the Harbour Front Literature Festival, and so in October, Hamburg will host a big "Writers' Thursday Special" for the second time. Among others, Judith Holofernes, Alexa Hennig von Lange, and Mille Petrozza, the frontman of "Kreator," will be participating. They will read from their books and discuss the interplay of their arts. Judith Holofernes (*1976) is a musician, lyricist, and author. She became known as the singer, guitarist, and songwriter of "Wir sind Helden," one of the defining German-language bands of the 2000s. Since the band's hiatus, she has been working solo and publishing literary texts. Her autobiographical books "Die Träume anderer Leute" and "Hummelhirn" were published recently. Alexa Hennig von Lange (*1973) is a writer. With her debut novel "Relax," she became one of the most well-known authors of her generation in 1997. She writes novels, youth books, and theater texts. In her Homecoming Trilogy, she combines personal family history with German contemporary history. Her novel "Alte Pfade" will be published in 2026. Mille Petrozza (*1967) is a musician, singer, guitarist, and songwriter. For more than forty years, he has been at the forefront of Kreator, one of the most internationally renowned German thrash metal bands. In 2025, his autobiography "Your Heaven, My Hell – Wie Heavy Metal mich gerettet hat," co-written with Torsten Groß, was published. Petrozza lives in Essen and Berlin.
