Thematic series at the Festival Center The new thematic series at the Festival Center Rathauspassage of the Harbour Front Literature Festival is dedicated to the big, yet very intimate questions of love, relationships, and sexuality. Together with exciting guests, Prof. Dr. Sonja Bröning discusses emotional worlds in which we feel safe until we experience them ourselves. It mainly deals with desire, power, and shame – openly, intelligently, surprisingly, and approachable. In the heart of Hamburg, a space for honest conversations, new perspectives, and encounters beyond taboos is created. Personal, relevant, and always close to water. Sonja Bröning teaches and researches as a professor of developmental psychology at MSH Medical School Hamburg, including in the program of Sexual Sciences. She also runs the book club "Liebes Leben" at MSH. She is a couple and sexual therapist in private practice. Dates:

The Invention of Toxic Masculinity), Eva Ladipo examines how pop culture, social media, and political rhetoric contribute to the radicalization of young men and why gender images still hold so much power over us. In conversation with Prof. Dr. Sonja Bröning, she talks about power, masculinity, and the longing for belonging – and about the consequences old role models have for love, relationships, and sexuality.
An evening about injured egos, political seductions, and the question of what a different understanding of masculinity could look like.
