On the tenth anniversary of Roger Willemsen's death, the great reader, thinker, and storyteller Roger Willemsen and books – that was a passionate, inexhaustible love story. From his estate, the book Are You Comfortable? About Reading and Books has now been published, edited by Insa Wilke. In it, Willemsen talks about reading – with sparkling irony, analytical insight, and above all with infectious enthusiasm. He pays tribute to great authors, mocks the literary scene, formulates "10 rules for readers," and reflects on fairy tales, obscenity, and human rights. The evening with Maria Schrader and Jens Harzer is a tribute to all readers, thinkers, and questioners. An invitation to marvel: a celebration of reading, language, and insatiable curiosity about the world. And we meet him, the great friend of thinking, once again as a passionate advocate of literature – witty, insightful, and deeply human. Jens Harzer was part of Dieter Dorn's ensemble at the Munich Kammerspiele and the Bavarian State Theatre for 16 years. In 2009, he moved to the Thalia Theater Hamburg, later working closely with Johan Simons at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. Since autumn 2025, Harzer has been at the Berliner Ensemble. In film, he has worked with Michael Verhoeven, Tom Tykwer, Wim Wenders, and Hermine Huntgeburth, among others. Since 2019, he has been the bearer of the Iffland Ring. Maria Schrader, born in 1965, is an actress, screenwriter, and director. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the German Film Award, the Silver Bear at the Berlinale, and the German Audiobook Prize. As a director, she became internationally known with "Before Dawn"; the Netflix miniseries "Unorthodox" earned her a 2020 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries.
