Description
Children and artists design monuments for the Children's Rights Square. | FUNDUS THEATER | Research Theater In line with October 3rd, we want to reflect with you and our anti-racist children's advisory council on a 'cityscape' that is fair to all children. Families, children, and adults are invited to participate.
In simple language:
This workshop is about pedestals and what is on them. For example, monuments: statues of well-known historical figures stand on stone pedestals in the city. Who or what is on the pedestals is considered important or beautiful and is meant to be remembered. Everyone should look at it. Who or what is on the pedestals is always decided by adults. They do not agree. Monuments are erected and later toppled. But one thing has not changed: children are never asked what should be placed on a pedestal. We want to change that together with you. Pedestals are also a bit like stages: would you also put yourself on a pedestal? Or would you perhaps want to fall off a pedestal – into a soft cushion? Together, we will develop experimental pedestals for the Children's Rights Square in front of FUNDUS THEATER, which will open in spring 2027. What would you put on the pedestal? What do you find important and beautiful? What should everyone think of, look at, and remember? What belongs in your 'cityscape'? SCHOOL WORKSHOPS BY APPOINTMENT
