With "Widdersehen," Leonie Swann picks up the tone of her debut again and presents another animal crime novel: When shepherdess Rebecca suddenly breaks off her European trip and leads the flock back to the Irish homeland pasture with Miss Maple, the sheep are initially optimistic like spring lambs. Because where could be more beautiful than the homeland pasture? But the pasture is no longer what it was: foreign sheep have eaten the favorite herbs, and Rebecca disappears without a trace. Left behind are a single finger and a mysterious letter that no one can read aloud. The sheep fear the worst. The film is based on Leonie Swann's novel of the same name; in the German version, Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka lend their voices to two sheep. Leonie Swann, born in 1975 near Munich, studied philosophy, psychology, and English literature in Munich and Berlin. Her debut "Glennkill" became an international bestseller and was awarded the Friedrich Glauser Prize. She lives in Berlin.
