Description
What makes a character credible? How do relationships, conflicts, and dynamics develop? And how do characters shape the atmosphere of a story, the world they move in, and the course of the plot? Unforgettable stories are driven by characters who stay with us for a long time. But what makes them come alive? In our new evening workshop, we focus on the art of creating characters that are more than just names on paper: people with contradictions, desires, quirks, and their own voice. Through selected texts, group discussions, and of course, numerous writing exercises, we explore how literary characters are created — and what they need to touch readers. PIERRE JARAWAN was born in 1985 in Amman, Jordan. His novels "At the End, the Cedars Remain," "A Song for the Missing," and most recently "Woman in the Moon" (all titles published by Berlin Verlag) were all bestsellers and have been translated into many languages. In 2025, he received the Tukan Prize from the city of Munich. DURATION: 7 PM - 10 PM FEE: EUR 40 / 25 (per evening) GROUP SIZE: 20 people
