Description

Edouard Hue expresses sensitively in his highly dynamic, precise choreographies what preoccupies him. He builds the double evening "Before the Night / The Firebird" around the theme of parenthood and uses it as a lens to reflect on tensions in our society. Childhood is the starting point for our view of the world and is expressed in the first part through a bedtime ritual to the music of Jonathan Soucasse. In the familiar space of the children's room, family dynamics are revealed through the dance distortion of everyday movements – play, exhaustion, resistance, and affection intertwine. To Igor Stravinsky's Firebird, the piece unfolds in the second part in a universe that is both dreamlike and threatening, gradually captivating the children. How can parents be points of orientation in a contradictory, increasingly complex world? Edouard Hue skillfully sets visual abstraction in tension with emotions, creating an aesthetic space for thought. From 6:30 to 7:30 pm, a moving introduction takes place, led by choreographer Edouard Hue. The introduction is free of charge.
