Quintet for Clarinet and String Quartet in E-flat major, op. 102 The concert starts tragically and darkly with Mozart's String Quartet KV 421, the only minor quartet among the famous Haydn quartets. According to the memories of Constanze Weber, it was composed while she was in labor with her first child, and her cries are said to have influenced the music. Fuchs, an important figure in Vienna's musical life at the end of the 19th century, bridges Brahms's tradition and the sound colors of the turn of the century with his clarinet quintet. The English clarinetist Thea King aptly described the work as a connection that "embraces the flavors of young Mahler, Strauss, and Schönberg." It will be exciting to see how the world premiere of composer Sascha Lino Lemke fits into this context.

The first prize at the string quartet competition in Evian in 1986 made the East German ensemble from the Berlin University of the Arts "Hanns Eisler" internationally known just a year after its founding.
