String Quartet in E Minor, Op. 59/2 Three challenging works by three composers with very different styles. Mozart's first of the Haydn Quartets, his response to Opus 33, which he dedicates to his dear friend with the words, "Famous man and my dearest friend, take my children here!" Followed by Mendelssohn's second quartet of the triad Op. 44, created during his honeymoon and famous for its fairy-like scherzo and its "Song Without Words." After the break, Beethoven's second part of the "Rasumowsky Quartets," a work that contemporaries referred to as "the patchwork of a madman," but is now considered groundbreaking for the genre.
Ardeo – in Latin "I burn" – is more than just the name of this quartet; Ardeo also represents the spirit and approach of the four French women to their repertoire – and their success proves them right. The Quatuor Ardeo was founded in 2001 at the Paris National Conservatory and is now one of the internationally most successful quartet formations. An incessant work on the pieces in perfect artistic harmony, team spirit, and friendship – these are still the principles of this extraordinary quartet, whose path to success is marked by numerous competition awards, such as in Bordeaux, Moscow, or Melbourne. The musicians joyfully present themselves on the great concert stages and festivals of Europe.
