Anna Jermolaewa (born 1970 in Saint Petersburg, RU) directs her alert and empathetic gaze at everyday moments that are easily overlooked and transforms them into vivid parables for social and political realities. She often works at locations related to her own biography, especially in countries connected to the former Soviet Union, where she lived until her escape in 1989. Jermolaewa's artistic practice includes video, installation, photography, performance, painting, and sculpture. Her special interest lies in the subtle mechanisms of influence that shape our daily lives. Anna Jermolaewa has already been featured in two group exhibitions at the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein. Two of her works are in the collection; both were part of her contribution to the Austrian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2024. For her major solo exhibition, Jermolaewa will develop new works.
