Tenancy law in Switzerland is not only very complex, it also repeatedly gives rise to (often judicial) disputes in practice. You want to renovate extensively even though the rental property is still rented out, tenants complain about noisy neighbors, do not accept the utility bill, do not pay the rent on time, or leave the apartment in a dilapidated condition. All of this increasingly presents private landlords with difficult challenges.

In this course, you will learn the basics of the craft of renting based on selected topics. Renting is treated according to the chronological course of a tenancy. From signing the contract, through defects during the tenancy, to termination of the tenancy and procedural questions. Using selected examples from practice, the most common legal pitfalls are addressed and shown how they can be prevented in individual cases.
