VARIATION X – Choreographic Concert

Description

Annalisa Derossi, the artistic director, is a trained pianist and dancer and has a long-standing collaboration with Ruedi Häusermann. In "VARIATION X" she deals with the interfaces of music, theater, and choreography, creating a new form language. Dance begins with the finest movements that appear in music-making. Along Beethoven's famous "Gassenhauer Trio," these movements are examined and their minimal changes are made visible lightly, as if under a magnifying glass. Thus, the popular third movement is freely interpreted and culminates in the titular X Variation. Music and choreography occur simultaneously and condition each other. The three performers thus build the choreographic bridge between Beethoven's music and contemporary composition, which combines sound and movement in an astonishing way. The connecting element is more important here than the separating one, and this is also to be understood as a statement against the general trend towards division. Language: without language
