«Underground Money – Coin Finds from Zurich Soil»

Description

Since 1986, now 40 years, the coin finds from the Canton of Zurich, which have been excavated in archaeological digs or by metal detector enthusiasts and private individuals, are processed, evaluated, and stored in the Coin Cabinet Winterthur. This anniversary is celebrated with a new exhibition in cooperation with the Canton Archaeology Zurich at the Coin Cabinet. Not only are spectacular finds displayed, of which there is no shortage, but also lost, everyday small change that reveals a lot about the use of money in Celtic and Roman times, the Middle Ages, and modern times.
