The great hall of the Elbphilharmonie is transformed into a disco, a concert into a dating platform, and in an industrial hall, a concert visit becomes an Antarctic expedition. With its innovative and contemporary concert formats, the Treppenhausorchester has been demonstrating for several years how highly topical themes – such as digitalization or the global refugee crisis – can shape an engaging concert evening. The motto: Move away from clichés, classical music is stiff and prudish; towards the ideal of a cross-societal, sensory, and unexpected concert experience. In "KULT," the Klangkollektiv specifically focuses its experimental spirit on the almost ritual elements of concert dramaturgy. The format exemplifies how these can be disrupted through precise interventions. But beware: there is a risk that after this comprehensive musical experience, you will never again crave a "normal" concert.
