Description
«Whoever controls fear, controls the entire political arena, because a successful manipulated fear surpasses all other emotions.» Inspired by the thesis of sociologist Eva Illouz, the Aargau architect, performer, and choreographer Elias Kurth creates an evening in the captivating pull of «Suspense». The performer uses the cinematic stylistic device of the narrative voice, speaking to himself. In conjunction with live sounds by Tonkünstler Daniel Steiner, an unpredictable, uncanny, and at the same time fascinating character develops. Is he perpetrator, victim, or observer? Elias Kurth dedicates his latest performance, along the thriller genre, in the fusion of fear and desire, to the contemporary theme of «Anxiety». It becomes a dance-like act of liberation from the false film into the pulsating promise of an unexpected plot twist. And from diffuse insecurity, thrill emerges—the vibrating promise of «another outcome». Language:
