The Zurich Chamber Singers

Description

In the international choral landscape, the Zurich Chamber Singers are still newcomers, as the ensemble has only existed since 2015. However, they are anything but an unknown entity: various recordings, world premieres, and nominations for prestigious awards attest to the substance of the Swiss singers, who, according to the image of HiFi magazine, have already "climbed into the top 10 of European chamber choirs." In Lörrach, they bring a mix of demanding motets and simple French Christmas carols. The former are by no means Renaissance motets, which one might initially place them in, but are from France of the 20th century. There, Francis Poulenc, Pierre Villette, and Olivier Messiaen shaped a new generation of motet composition, which the Zurich Chamber Singers explore in a stylish manner. Conductor: Christian Ehrny
