Description

With the words "This is no ordinary string quartet" jazz and rock legend John McLaughlin once described the radio. string. quartet based in Vienna. In fact, the four musicians only share the instruments and the number of members with a classical string quartet. Beyond that, they push the ensemble into new territories, experimenting with all kinds of music genres and playing almost exclusively their own compositions and arrangements. This includes the titular key work "BACH · like waters". "I imagined what it would be like to trace Bach back to the source, to go to the origin in the mountain," describes violinist and arranger Bernie Mallinger of the creative process. During this journey, the quartet is supported by the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, which multiplies the quartet sound and thus creates an enlightening sound experience.
