Description
Legendary mountaineer Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner was the first woman in the world to reach all 14 eight-thousanders without supplemental oxygen and without support from high-altitude porters.
In her current lecture, she shares her approach to the inner dimension of mountaineering through various excerpts from her expeditions.
She talks about her physical and mental preparation, her enduring enthusiasm, as well as dealing with setbacks and overcoming extremely difficult situations. Important elements for Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner include meditation, inner gut feeling, as well as nutrition and a deep connection to the mountain and nature.
In the second part of the lecture, Gerlinde takes you to the ascent of K2, the most difficult of all 8000ers. On the Chinese side of the mountain, she succeeded in 2011 in her seventh attempt to reach the summit via the very challenging and rarely climbed North Pillar, as part of an international team.
Expect an inspiring and authentic live lecture with very personal impressions, accompanied by exciting images and video sequences from the mountain world.
