Description
How well do we actually know our own country? While Bali, Brooklyn, or the Seychelles are destinations of longing for many, fascinating regions like the Höri, the Bliesgau, or Upper Lusatia often remain undiscovered – even though they are right on our doorstep. GEO and National Geographic photographer Peter Gebhard therefore embarked on an extraordinary journey with his vintage van "Erwin": 18,000 kilometers around Germany, along coasts and borders, through cities, villages, and stories.
With a keen eye, fine humor, and true explorer spirit, Peter Gebhard shows a Germany away from clichés – rough and delicate, familiar and surprising. His live report becomes a lively storytelling around the campfire, full of impressive images, videos, and encounters that touch.
Whether with windsurfing pioneers on Fehmarn, with steelworkers at the blast furnace, a Schellenriemen maker in the Allgäu, or a returnee in the Ore Mountains – everywhere Peter Gebhard meets people who shape this land.
From crab boats to the old countess, from lignite protests to the magic of Hallig islands – this journey is a look into the soul of our country, making you feel the value of home. "360° Germany" shows: You don't have to travel far to be amazed. You just have to look closely.
