The ensemble Spark, awarded the ECHO Klassik, takes you into the dazzling world of Bohemia, the home of artists, idealists, and individualists, free spirits, and visionaries. Puccini's opera "La Bohème" meets the eponymous chanson by Charles Aznavour. Bizet's Carmen embodies pride, love of freedom, and unbridled passion, and is staged in a completely new Carmen fantasy. Masterpieces from the past are combined with sounds of today, including melodies of the Sinti and Roma, original compositions, and commissioned works. "Bohemian Spirit" is a love letter to freedom and a life that cannot be confined to molds. Perhaps the program also tells a little about Spark, the adventurous quintet that travels around the globe, has fans in the most remote corners of the continents, and makes music that breaks genre boundaries and connects people.
