Description
In a new combination, TanzLuzern presents two choreographic highlights from past seasons. In "Salty Pink," Inbal Pinto aims directly at the hearts of the audience with her characteristic fine, slightly absurd humor. The Israeli artist skillfully plays with the fragility of the human body and uses not only the nearly endless range of movement of TanzLuzern's ensemble but also her theatrical talent. Internally "pre-warmed," we then experience the tour de force of Andrea Miller's "SEREMOS." The piece by the American caused a storm of enthusiasm and sold-out houses in Lucerne, pushing the ensemble members to the limits of what the human body can do. Although the two works are so contrasting, what makes this new pairing particularly appealing is that the choreographers share a similar background. Both Andrea Miller and Inbal Pinto come from the renowned Batsheva Dance Company. They have retained Ohad Naharins' approach of using the body as directly, grounded, and profoundly human as possible. However, the fact that the two choreographies come across like day and night is a clear sign of the outstanding talent and great originality of these two significant women of dance.
