Description

"Romeo and Juliet" tells of the inevitability of fate and the eternal presence of death, of a deadlocked conflict and deeply rooted hatred. All this can be overcome by love, but the lovers pay with their lives. The renowned Spanish choreographer Asun Noales and twelve dancers of her company OtraDanza create a work with Sergei Prokofiev's ballet that seeks the truth without hiding behind movement, with a choreographic language that captures the complexity and contrasts that define both the story and its characters: emotional, intense, and seductive. Bühne Aarau and argovia philharmonic join forces to bring Prokofiev's ballet based on William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" to the stage of the Alte Reithalle with the argovia philharmonic orchestra under the direction of its chief conductor Josep Vicent.
