Description

The Italian master of opera composed a requiem mass as a tribute to the writer and poet Alessandro Manzoni. The work is both a prayer and a theater, where silent pleas alternate with powerful choral outbursts: “Dies irae!” It is precisely for this “operatic” quality that Verdi's Requiem is rarely used in liturgical practice, and it is this dramatic energy that our production will bring to you in a staged adaptation. Four soloists, a mighty choir, and a large orchestra engage in a struggle with the fear of death and seek the light.
