RE-IMAGININGS. Mai-Thu Perret and Una Szeemann

On this occasion, the two artists were invited to engage in a dialogue with the MASI collection and to select a personal choice of works. Despite their different expressions, Perret and Szeemann share an interest in temporality, materiality, and female imagination. Through their artistic explorations, which move between myth, nature, and storytelling, they open new perspectives on the museum heritage and raise questions about its future. The project reflects the vision of MASI as a globally connected institution with local roots. It invites international artists to reinterpret their own collection as well as the context of Ticino. The exhibition concept by architect Marco Palmieri also extends to areas of the museum that are not normally used for exhibitions. Curated by: Letizia Ragaglia, Director of MASI Lugano.
