Description
Since the end of the 19th century, this has been shaped not only by the regional artists but also by artists, art collectors, art dealers, and art scholars who have found their home in Ticino. The collections particularly reflect the cultural uniqueness of the Canton of Ticino, with its Italian-influenced cultural identity on one hand, and its political affiliation with the Swiss Confederation on the other. The collection presentation, enriched with high-profile loans, aims to depict how art in Ticino has dynamically moved and developed within its unique cultural tension field from the years after the founding of the Swiss Confederation until the end of World War II, and which influences from the south and north have asserted themselves here. A selection curated by Tobia Bezzola. Notes - The full list of prices, discounts, reductions, and opening hours can be viewed directly on the museum's website.Highlights
