Gesture of empathy and sisterhood towards a woman called "monstrous," this piece is an attempt to grasp the unspeakable, to say what surpasses us and to go beyond what touches us.
How to say a secret? How to show shame? How to talk about what surpasses us? Qui-vive is the lull of a body that oscillates between hiding and revealing. Adapted from the text by Belgian-Swiss author Anne-Sophie Subilia, the piece affirms the power of fiction to approach taboo with sensitivity and to make visible an erased woman. The monologue questions: can we react to what seems monstrous to us with gentleness rather than violence, with empathy rather than judgment?
