Mushrooms in the Hardwald

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, Hanna Schmid (VAPKO mushroom inspector) will once again offer exciting insights into the world of mushrooms. The event begins at 10 a.m. with a lecture at the Hegnerhof, which provides basics on the identification and ecological significance of mushrooms. A rich mushroom exhibition shows a selection of specimens in natura.
This is followed by a small excursion to the nearby Hardwald. On site, mushroom species are discovered and explained. Hanna Schmid explains their relationship to trees and plants, discusses edible, inedible, and poisonous species, and shares her extensive knowledge with the participants.
The excursion is aimed at everyone interested in mushrooms and is not intended as an event for collecting edible mushrooms. Even those who initially believe they can hardly discover any mushrooms will be surprised by the abundance and diversity found in the Hardwald.
